WHO ARE WE?

The Interreligious Conference for the Protection of Children and Youth in the Virtual World is an inclusive movement dedicated to engaging social actors to protect children and young people in the digital environment. Through conferences, discussions, and advocacy, it aims to raise awareness among policymakers, social actors, parents, and young people themselves. The goal is to ensure children's safe development while enabling them to effectively utilize the opportunities offered by digital technology. This initiative is led by Winds International.

OUR VISION

We believe in a future where every child and teenager can navigate the digital world safely. Our vision is to create an online environment that protects the rights and well-being of young people, while fostering positive interactions.

WHAT WE DO

We organize conferences, workshops, and awareness campaigns to inform parents, educators, and young people about the dangers of the online environment. Our activities aim to promote safe and responsible internet use.

OUR COMMUNITY

We bring together stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, including government and non-governmental actors, representatives of religious organizations, educators, and child rights advocates, to collaborate and share resources. Together, we are working to build a support network to protect our youth.

CONTEXT AND JUSTIFICATION: Since the 2000s, a new generation has grown up with increased exposure to digital technology. Today, Generation Alpha, children, are the most tech-savvy but also the most vulnerable to online threats. Many still rely on community leaders to understand these dangers and protect themselves. Winds Impact Togo, a subsidiary of Winds International, is organizing a seminar to inform religious leaders about the risks of the virtual world and how to protect young people, while also connecting them with organizations offering protection services.

CONTEXT AND JUSTIFICATION: With the rise of the internet and digital technologies, children and young people are spending increasing amounts of time online. While this offers numerous opportunities for learning and socialization, it also exposes young people to various risks, such as cyberbullying, exploitation, and manipulation of personal data. Artificial intelligence, the latest development in this field, offers potential solutions. However, it also presents ethical and security challenges.
